gather ye
gather ye: collard greens
in lieu of houseplants gather dark leafy greens like beet or collards(shown). they be huge. almost unmanageable. i chop them up by hand in my dark tinyc kit. (food processor destroys leafy greens) add real bacon or facsimile. douse them in marsala.
2-3 slices bacon
1 bunch collard greens - rinsed, trimmed and chopped
1 onion, diced
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (i used crushed red pepper flakes)
1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth (i used plain water)
1/4 cup marsala wine (deglaze pan with it after bacon crisps)
salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add bacon, and fry until crisp. Remove bacon, and drain off excess fat. Add the onion; cook and stir until slightly browned. and season with cayenne pepper. Deglaze with marsala.
2. Add the collard greens, bacon, and pour in the chicken broth. Cook over medium-low heat for 30 to 40 minutes, until collards are tender.
gather ye: red lentils on the cheap: find them: buy them in bulk: scoop them up with bare hands: stuff them in an everlasting bag (no plastic if u want to survive the green police), or your roomy pockets: do it: lentils live forever;
lentils coexist with every food in the pantry; they often do more: don't
be alarmed if you find stuff goin' on.
i've found them with orzo and my main man tonno...in olive oil; he wears a tin suit; that fact doesn't prevent conjugal visits;
